In light of my recent experiment with charging for my games, I've added a $5 download to Detectiveland. The game itself remains free to play online. The download - for people who want to play offline, or just show their appreciation - contains the game as a Windows program, plus the following extras:

• A high-quality map of the game
• A detective newsstand magazine containing two short stories
• A two-page designer's notes document

Detectiveland is a keyboardless multimedia text adventure that won first place in the annual Interactive Fiction Competition. It's a puzzle-filled mystery story-game set in a pulpy world of mobsters, crooked politicians and untrustworthy dames. There are three cases to solve, plus the big finale.
